Silver Linings Playbook vs Fight club

I saw it today. It was the antidote to having a big verbal spat last night with my husband -over nothing- and then dreaming all night about fighting with him. He is projecting his own sh*! on me, and today he apologized. But I was exhausted and deflated.

After staring in to space for a while I said to myself----Self Care! Time to recharge my batteries. Retail therapy- $30 of little stuff from Dollar General (stuff like socks, pens, calendar, prunes :), and pretty storage boxes. A box full o' stuff. Then breakfast alone at Ihop ( simple and fit meal) and my own coffee pot which I drank almost the whole thing.

Then to this movie ( No 'Le Miz') for me. Bradley Cooper great. Jennifer Lawrence great. Movie overall pretty dang good. My husband is probably bipolar whereas I tend to just lapse in and out of different levels of depression. In our relationship, I tend to be the more centered one with inner resources and can pull myself out of a funk . At times this movie was like a prettied up version of my own life.

Later, gym time-rowing, weights, zumba.

Self care. It was a silver lining kind of day.

  1. Bradley Cooper can usually make me smile. I *loved* "All About Steve".

  2. I'm a Les Miserable fan all the way. It is good that you can find ways to go out and make yourself feel better after one of these spats with hubby. Maybe I wouldn't have ended up divorced if I had had transportation and some self care techniques to help ease the tension between us. So glad you had a fun day out.

  3. I always like your movie /Tv reviews. Plus I love your suggestions for self care. Believe ot or not, 3ven someone who lives alone needs a self care day once in a while.
