I think it's a southern tradition or at least it was in my family to be the first to yell 'Christmas gift' when you arrived at your hosts' home. I always remember my Grandparents doing that anyway and us yelling it back.
Merry Christmas, all. It is a subdued Christmas morning in the Pjs' house. I'm in my new red-bird granny nightgown -a Walmart special Christmas gift. I'll admit to a nip of Jameson whiskey in my coffee in prep for a day spent with the in laws.
Here's my stash: The Hot Toddy book! for reals. The Dvd of "Gosford Park" one of my favorite movies. The soundtrack to the tv show "Nashville". A new hand held phone for the house. Candles. And yes, a Katniss Everdeen Hunger Games notebook.
There was also a sunset / sunrise calendar but it came after the photo. This feels like a bounty though it was a budget Christmas.
For the pups chicken jerky treats. No stuffed toys this year as we are reaching a critical mass of limp stuffed dog toys on the floor. We can just put up a few for a few months, wash them and bring them out again and it's like Christmas morning any day.
The best moments so far were singing old Christmas hymns at church last night and hugs with church friends-family. The best gift: my dog Angel's platelet counts are staying normal as they wean down the steroids. photo just taken 1 moment ago.
